In the “Qasedak” International Poster and Cartoon Festival, the Thematic Poster section is designed to focus on a specific narrative and the artistic representation of a central concept.
This section allows artists to present their deep and personal interpretation of the announced theme through an original graphic work, with absolutely no use of artificial intelligence permitted.
The Official Theme for This Section:
“Soleimani; A Narrative That Was Erased.”
Works in this section must possess the following characteristics:
1) Focus on a Unified Message
The work must be built upon a clear, defined core. The message chosen by the artist should be readily perceivable by the viewer at first glance.
2) Cohesive Visual Storytelling
A thematic poster is not merely an aesthetically pleasing composition; it is a condensed visual narrative that reflects a part of a truth, experience, or the artist’s unique perspective.
3) Conscious Selection of Graphic Elements
Form, color, typography, and negative space must all serve the message. This section places particular emphasis on the coherence between meaning and form.
4) Originality of the Work and Prohibition of AI Use
In the Thematic Poster section, the use of AI tools is strictly prohibited.
The goal of this section is to highlight the artist’s own thought process, skill, and personal vision.
5) Human and Responsible Expression
Given the sensitivity of the theme, artists are expected to approach their narrative with care, respect, and artistic integrity. The poster should be capable of revealing part of “the human face of a narrative.”
From the Perspective of the Qasedak Festival:
A thematic poster is a conscious effort to transform an important concept into an image that conveys a narrative in a single glance.
In this edition, that narrative is “the human face of the narrative that was erased.”
